Uttar Pradesh: Sainia Gandhi registers nomination from Rae Bareli
Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) President Sonia Gandhi on Thursday filed nomination from Rae Bareli Lok Sabha seat of Uttar Pradesh. Earlier in the morning, he worshiped and performed hymns in the Congress office with son Rahul Gandhi and daughter Priyanka Gandhi Vadra.
While performing a road show after the pooja, Sonia Gandhi reached the district collectorate for enrollment. During this time family members were present with them. The slogans of enthusiastic Congress workers were echoing. Thousands of workers were seen dancing and singing along the road show. This time Sonia Gandhi's fight in Rae Bareli has left Congress and joined Dinesh Pratap Singh of Bhartiya Janta Party.
Sonia is in the fray for the fifth time in Rae Bareli Lok Sabha constituency. Rae Bareli is considered as a stronghold of the Congress and especially the Gandhi-Nehru family. Sonia has won four times in 2004, 2006, 2009 and 2014. The SP-BSP-RLD alliance has not won any candidate in this constituency. Voting on May 6 in Rae Bareli, in the fifth phase of the election
